Islip, the Way It Was
"An Evening of Reminiscing"
On Thursday, November 17th, the Society hosted Nancy Libert and Kay Erwood, lifelong Islipians, to share their memories of the hamlet enhanced by vintage photos from their own and the Society's collection.  Nancy discussed how a small cluster of homes became the town it is today.  Kay discussed businesses then and now and her own family's joys and tribulations owning the East Islip movie house.  The audience was encouraged to share their own 'reminisces'.
