Tour Highlights
The 11th Holiday House Tour was one of our most successful to date.

The Historical Society of Islip Hamlet would like to thank our members, local businesses and Tour participants for making the Tour a success. We particularly thank the homeowners and their families who so graciously permitted us in to view their lovely homes.

We would like to thank the officials and congregation of Islip Presbyterian Church for allowing the Society to use their Chapel for the reception and to permit the Church to be a part of the tour once again.

A special thank you is extended to Lori Zegel, proprietor of Nook & Cranny Gift Boutique, located at 3 Grant Avenue. Ms. Zegel and her staff sold the tickets to the Tour. And we thank Supervisor Pete McGowan and the Islip Town Board for allowing the Society the use of Town Hall's beautiful Rotunda on the day of the Tour.

The Alliance, Barbershop Quartet, provided wonderful entertainment during the Tour's reception. An added feature to this year's reception was the baking excellence of the students and faculty of the Islip BOCES Career Center Culinary Institute. Their delicious pies and cookies were thoroughly enjoyed by all.

We pay specific tribute to the U. S. Marines Reserves and their "Toys-For-Tots" campaign. Over the years, these Marines have been participating in our Tours while collecting toys for the less fortunate. Their efforts have made it possible for many children to have a joyful holiday season. These Marines have also been critical in protecting our freedom at home and abroad. The Society wishes to thank them and their families for their continued sacrifices.
